McDuff first burst on the scene in 1997 with a trilogy of picture books that quickly captured the hearts of young children and their parents. The endearing expressions and exuberant personality of this West Highland Terrier have been chronicled in adventures by the best-selling, award-winning team of author Rosemary Wells and illustrator Susan Jeffers. These creators love their Westies! And their affection permeates their work. 

In fact, it is the compelling illustrations that are the inspiration for the adult-directed Licensing Program. Launched October 2002 at the Pet Industry Christmas Trade Show, there were breathtaking dog jackets and rainwear from Canine Couture Collection. It's the first, up-scale branded program to appear in pet boutiques. This is an exploding market with pet department opening in Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, Macy's and similar department stores in addition to the specialty stores popping up across the country.
