Nothing gives me more happiness that trying to help the most vulnerable people in society. It is a goal and an essential part of my life.

Diana, Princess of Wales, June 1997

The Partnership of London, England, announced today that it has agreed in principle to a Licensing Representation Agreement with Bliss House, Inc., for the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund. Bliss House will be the representative for licensing and commercial activity in North, Central and South America. The Partnership represents the Fund worldwide.

The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund exists because people, worldwide, recognized The Princess of Wales’ compassion for others and have given money to create a living memorial to continue her work. By buying products, consumers help the international work of The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund with victims in some of the poorest countries and war-torn communities around the world. THE PASSION OF THE BRIAN: LIFE OF BRIAN TO BE RE-RELEASED IN THEATERS NEXT MONTH
by Hans ten Cate (special thanks to John Goldstone)
Tuesday, 23 March 2004

Monty Python's The Life of Brian will be re-released in theaters on April 30th in the United States

Beware the second coming... of Brian!

Monty Python Producer John Goldstone wrote us over the weekend with some wonderful news. “In view of the furor over Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ we think it important to offer an alternative view from Monty Python and are planning a theatrical re-release (or second coming) of Life of Brian.

John said that the Pythons are doing this through Rainbow Releasing, the company responsible for distributing Holy Grail theatrically in the US in 2001. Rainbow Releasing will be distributing new prints of Life of Brian to commemorate the film’s 25th Anniversary. “We are aiming for 30th April in Los Angeles and New York and then depending on the response will spread out across the USA.”

Specifically, the film will open in Los Angeles and New York at the Laemmle Sunset 5 and Landmark Sunshine Cinema respectively on April 30th and will expand across the United States throughout the Spring.

“[We] will expand once we have a sense of the initial reaction to the re-release,” said John. “Sharon Lester got a really good feel from The Holy Grail re-release of the best theaters around the country to play Monty Python and has been under pressure ever since from the theater owners to bring Life of Brian back so all this is very fortuitous. So after the first week we will be able to assess which way to go and will keep [PythOnline] fed with dates and theaters as they come up.”

“A lot of people in America have said that they couldn't figure out a way to deal with the public reaction to Mel's movie,” John Goldstone told Daily Variety yesterday. “This is a kind of antidote to Mel.”

So, will it be "Mel or Monty?... The Passion or the Python?" (as Rainbow's president Henry Jaglom wants to market it). Stay tuned next month...

Taggies, Inc., of Spencer, Massachusetts, announced today that it had signed a Licensing Representation Agreement with Bliss House, Inc., one of America’s premier independent licensing agencies and consultancies.

Created by an early childhood educator and mother of three, TAGGIES® are security blankets based on the idea that babies and kids love to rub satin edges, clothing labels and tags. Julie Dix watched her own child do this and invented the unique security blanket that is at the heart of TAGGIES®. TAGGIES offer babies and kids all kinds of tags that are both tactile and visually stimulating. No two tags on a blanket are alike. Moms call TAGGIES an "interactive blanket" because it provides the child with both an exciting activity and is their cuddly, soft security blanket -- which as mothers Dix and her partner, Danielle Ayotte, knew that all kids need.

TAGGIES received a utility patent (U.S. Patent No. 6,427,265) for the concept and immediately expanded the original idea to include pillows, Take-A-Long TAGGIES and in 2003, soft dolls. Last year, TAGGIES signed their first license with Scholastic, one the world’s largest children’s book publishers, to launch – My First Taggies ® Book: Sweet Dreams.  The initial print run was 125,000!  This would make Sweet Dreams either #1 or #2 on the cloth book bestseller list, if there were a list for cloth books. In 2004 TAGGIES is launching a line of Wristies – toy characters that attach to the child’s wrist. TAGGIES has also expanded distribution to Canada, England and Ireland.

Bliss House has helped TAGGIES with marketing and product strategy and was instrumental in getting them into toys and the license with Scholastic. Jerry Houle, President of Bliss House is also a member of TAGGIES’ Board of Advisors. It was at one of these Board meetings that the topic of expanding the TAGGIES brand through licensing first became a reality. Bliss House has been given worldwide responsibility for licensing and has targeted the following categories:

            ·        Apparel: T-shirts, onsies, headwear, scarves, vests, pajamas, belts, footwear and more

            ·        Bed and bath linens

            ·        New toy classifications

            ·        Infant and juvenile furniture and equipment (strollers, chairs, car seats, etc.) and

            ·        Videos, DVD's, and music products/productions.
